Effects of a postoperative program in patients with shoulder stiffness following arthroscopic rotator cuff repair

چکیده
Background The most common complication in the surgery for rotator cuff (RC) tears is postoperative shoulder stiffness. evidence treatment of this condition scarce. This study assessed effects a program at onset stiffness following arthroscopic RC repair. Methods A single-group pre- and post-test design was included. Participants performed 6-week program. Primary outcomes were upper limb function with Constant–Murley Disabilities Arm, Shoulder, Hand (DASH) questionnaires, respectively. Secondary included pain intensity rest during movement visual analog scale (VAS), range motion goniometer. Results total 115 adult males intervention produced positive effect on (+35.6 points, p<0.001) DASH questionnaire (−26.2 p = 0.005); VAS (−2.8 cm, p<0.001); (−2.7 ROMs. Conclusion showed clinically statistically significant benefits functional participants.

متن کاملPostoperative deep shoulder infections following rotator cuff repair
Rotator cuff repair (RCR) is one of the most commonly performed surgical procedures in orthopaedic surgery. The reported incidence of deep soft-tissue infections after RCR ranges between 0.3% and 1.9%. Deep shoulder infection after RCR appears uncommon, but the actual incidence may be higher as many cases may go unreported. Clinical presentation may include increasing shoulder pain and stiffnes...
متن کاملPostoperative outcomes of arthroscopic subacromial decompression for rotator cuff tear with shoulder stiffness.
Some patients with rotator cuff tear have shoulder stiffness preoperatively. Concomitant preoperative shoulder stiffness may affect postoperative outcomes of arthroscopic subacromial decompression (ASD) for rotator cuff tear. The purpose of this study was to compare postoperative outcomes for ASD between rotator cuff tear patients with and without preoperative shoulder stiffness and to analyze ...

Methods: PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, and Scopus databases were searched for reviews, clinical studies, and case reports of complications associated with ARCR. Reference lists of selected articles were also screened. The terminology of complications and their definitions were extracted from all relevant original articles by a single reviewer and verified by a second reviewer. Definitions o...
متن کاملRehabilitation following arthroscopic rotator cuff repair.
The postoperative rehabilitation program is critical for the successful arthroscopic treatment of rotator cuff injury. The authors' experience has confirmed that the best clinical results (restoration of strength, motion, and relief of pain) following rotator cuff repair are achieved after a durable repair of tendon to bone that heals in its entirety. Therefore, the senior author (SSB) has adop...
